the week when technology hated me

oooh! updates, i hear you gasp. Finally the laundromattress has awakened from her cyber slumber.

Well not quite.

Anyways, i'm typing this on my brother-in-law's lappy because Old Faithful Dell finally gave his last byte-ridden breath on Friday the 9th of december, 2005, so maybe that'll give some of you a clue as to why I haven't been online. Amazingly, i felt immense peace when i came home, powered him up, only to find a blank screen with the words, 'Operating System not found' staring back at me. Dell's served me well - even when he was suffocated and choked up with mp3s, movies and whatnot, he never gave up on me. RIP my friend.

NOW the only thing to worry about is answering to those of you out there who want pikkies. Cos as from that fatal second on the 9th of december, 2005, they were no more. Shitt.

So what else happened to convince me that technology hated me last week?

Saturday the 10th. Hippo and me went to Eastpoint @Simei to buy ourselves some wheels. Not the type that needs a key to turn on the engine, although of the 4-wheel variety. Yes folks you guessed it, we bought ourselves bicycles! Suspensionless but who wants to punish themselves and their behinds by bumping up and down on rugged terrain and crazyass slopes. Singapore got no Rottnest island to cycle in lah.

So it was a choice between cycling to Changi Village or Downtown East on that fateful, cloudy-gloomy day. We chose the latter, because I wanted to indulge in the best bubble tea on the island, Tea Valley (I kid you not it is really good shit)! When we reached Loyang Point it started drizzling slightly. Hippo suggested turning back or heading into the shopping mall but I really wanted that bubble tea, so we rode on. The gunpowder grey clouds weren't being ominous for fun, cos after that all hell broke loose and the rain cut into us like thousands of little knives (ay, im really not exaggerating ok!).

And i found out that the jeans i was wearing wasn't as hardy and thick as i hoped it would be, cos my phone got severely waterlogged, and thus, it died, and i lost all my numbers. Yes, yours, yours and yours.

So for those of you reading this blog, who would like to indulge me a little, kindly do me a favour and SMS me, stating your name.Hehe. And don't bother asking me why i didn't store my numbers in the SIM card - its a weird little quirk of mine, that has obviously more stupidity in it than cleverness.
